Barak Obama, John Boehner and Harry Reid – please don’t lose us parents and our future children

Posted on July 13, 2012

Dear Barak Obama, John Boehner and Harry Reid,

I write your names above without your esteemed titles hoping you would read this as fathers and human beings. It’s difficult and painful for us parents to advocate to you the importance for stillbirth support and research. We’re lost in depression, desperation and suicidal thoughts.

We parents who lost our children to stillbirth deaths ask you to please consider holding a hearing and vote for H.R. 1037 – the stillbirth research and Awareness Act of 2011, S. 1862 and/or HR3418 –  the Stillbirth and SUID Prevention, Education and Awareness Act.

At least show us you care even one iota. One hearing would go a long way in awareness. One hearing would go a long way in helping bereaved parents feel those with power care. We obviously want one of these bills passed into law but, at the moment, we’ll take anything. Like I said, just a hearing.

Show us you care because when you don’t, you continue to lose us to despair and worse.
