Posted on November 20, 2014

USCapitolU.S. Senate Health, Education, Labor and Pension Committee Passed the “The Sudden Unexpected Death Data Enhancement Act (S. 2746)”. Time is running out so please contact your two U.S. Senators urging them to pass S. 2746.

Find your U.S. Senator and contact them via their phone or e-mail. You can sort the U.S. Senators by state to find your two quickly.

“Please pass S. 2746 – The Sudden Unexpected Death Data Enhancement and Awareness Act. The bill will help collect data to help better understand the causes of stillbirth deaths, Sudden Unexpected Infant Death (SUID) and Sudden Unexplained Death in Childhood (SUDC). The purpose of the legislation is to help prevent the future deaths of children and the tragedies these deaths cause to families across the U.S.

We have a very short amount of time as the session is about to end. If the bill passes the Senate, it would then have to have a re-vote in the U.S. House. Leaders are moving the bill quickly but time is running short with the holidays upon us.

Here are the bill’s current Senate co-sponsors:

18 cosponsors (14D, 4R) Lead Sponsor: Sen. Sherrod Brown (D-OH)
